What does it truly mean to love your enemy?
This quarter, we are witnessing the work of the Holy Spirit in ways that challenge our understanding of justice, mercy, and obedience. Inside Fresno County Jail and throughout the surrounding communities, lives are being transformed by a love that can only come from Christ. We share the story of Rolando, once bound by violence and revenge, now walking in forgiveness and reconciliation. In a moment where the flesh would have taken over, the Spirit intervened. What should have ended in retaliation became a testimony of prayer, peace, and the power of God to change a heart. This is not behavior modification. This is new life.
At the same time, the ministry continues to grow in both depth and reach. From weekly Bible studies like “Friday Fight” and “Bibles & Burgers,” to service efforts like Wash & Worship, the Body of Christ is gathering, serving, and stepping out in faith. Doors are opening within the jail system, including a potential opportunity to baptize inmates for the first time, a powerful step toward recognizing true transformation. Volunteers from 18 churches have united, former inmates are now being trained to return as ministers, and communities are being rebuilt through the Gospel.
In Christ, we are reminded that His commands are not suggestions. They are invitations into a life that requires surrender, obedience, and trust. As we continue to “Build Upon the Rock,” may we not only hear His words, but put them into practice. What God is doing is real. It is visible. And it is calling each of us to step forward in faith.
